The redevelopment of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, completed in 2010, was a £113 million project to transform the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre (original architects: Elizabeth Scott, Maurice Chesterton, and John C Shepherd, 1932). This theatre - which replaced the 1879 Shakespeare Memorial Theatre destroyed by fire in 1926 - was the latest development in British theatre design since Shakespeare went to London. Now listed Grade II*, it was a radical art deco design with many original features. But have they been preserved?
